70-year-old Ron McMillen played online for the first time and won WSOP bracelet

Nine tournaments have already been held since the start of WSOP Online 2020. Robert “bustinballs” Kun became the winner of one of such event and won his first WSOP bracelet during his stream.

However, this year became successful for the man who had not previously played online poker, but he managed to win his first bracelet.  

70-year-old participant won WSOP Online tournament with $1 000 buy-in and $974 700 prize pool. McMillen earned $188 200 for his victory. The event collected 1 026 entries and 143 players got the prize money. By the way, the American poker player and writer Maria Konnikova was among those who earned the minimum payout of $1 650.    

Before the participation in this online event, the tournament champion Ron McMillen played only in live poker games and even took part in several events of the previous World Series of Poker.

Undoubtedly, he also planned to go to Las Vegas this year, but coronavirus pandemic affected his plans. An elderly resident from Iowa decided to take a chance and play his first online tournament.

In this event, he managed to outplay such famous poker players as Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moorman and Anthony Zinno. The American poker player Ryan Torgersen became the runner-up of event and earned $116 370.   

In the final hand of tournament, Ron McMillen shoved with pocket tens against Torgersen's A-Q. On the flop, McMillen hit a set, and turn and river didn’t improve Torgersen's hand. As a result, McMillen became the winner.

As we can see, the family and friends of tournament champion supported him during the final. He also celebrated his triumph at Aria Casino with a bottle of elite champagne.
