AI casino to be built in Singapore

​Artificial intelligence developers from SenseTime Company are working on building AI casino. SenseTime has been founded in 2014 and its new startup is considered one of the most advanced in China. The company's active customers are Xiaomi, Huawei and Alibaba. 

The world's first gambling establishment of such format is being built at the Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.

The main feature of this casino

Croupier-robots will work in this casino, and special cameras will monitor the fair play of visitors. However, SenseTime faced some serious problems during the implementation phase of cameras.

For example, staff wear identical uniforms and the system cannot recognize differences between people. Moreover, the highest image quality is required, but CCTV cameras have not yet coped with this task.

According to the words of Shaun Leong (employee of international law firm), casinos can apply facial recognition technology to identify fraudsters. However, it is important to examine lawfulness of such actions.

SenseTime representatives states that security and confidentiality are the major priorities. All data is used only to verify the identity and track statistics.

So far, there is not a single casino in the world with robots as croupiers. Nevertheless, it seems that such technological advances will be inevitable in the future.
