Are PokerStars VIP system updates coming up?
PokerStars has launched an updated loyalty program in the Italian client of the poker room. It is expected that it may soon be also rolled out in other markets. This topic is actively discussed on the 2 + 2 forum.
As predicted, the Red Chests were removed, and several new chests were added, including the Black Chests, which are now the most expensive in the loyalty program. The Platinum Chest (that formerly was the most expensive one) was also removed, and a new Diamond Chest was added.
There are still 6 varieties of chests. Now the “youngest” (the cheapest) chest is Blue one. It has a fixed price of €/$0,50.
Next is Bronze, Silver, Gold and two new chests - Diamond and Black.

Now players no longer need to earn 4 chests a day. Users can move to a new level of chests if they earn 10 chests for a period of 28 days.
The Black Chest is the highest valued one and the biggest one-time reward is equal to €700. The probability of receiving the biggest prize is 10 times in every thousand of Black Chests, which means that players have 1% to hit the main prize.
Users who play on pokerstars.es have got notification emails from the room regarding Stars Rewards is changing:
The reaction of the poker community can be conveyed by means of two comments:
«Well, so now there will be more rewards, but it will be more difficult to get the chests? Sounds great, Stars! Now our rakeback is equal to what, 1 percent instead of 3?».
«Still the chests? Stars need to do what Phil Galfond is doing now: ban HUDs, embed anonymous tables and "Seat Me" for all cash games, set fixed BI for all games and invent a normal rakeback system, sort of Splash the Pot or something new».
