Aurora at PokerStars: old game tables are no longer available

PokerStars 2020

Last year, the network first spoke of a new PokerStars updating called Aurora. The changes were introduced gradually throughout the year, and now all the game tables, presented in the lobby of the client, have been moved to the new engine – Aurora.

Despite the old table format is no longer available, the lobbies remain the same. Such new formats as 6+ Holdem and Tempest are still in the game lobby and if they evoke a positive feedback from the players, then the developers will implement them on an ongoing basis.

Key moments of moving to the new Aurora engine

  • There are 4 themes in the table appearance settings: Classic, Mercury, Saloon and Black.
  • The old table formats were removed from the lobby, and they are no longer available in the client.
  • Players of the room are not free to choose between the old and the new table design.

So far, the launch of the new engine at PokerStars can be called full-fledged only towards new table formats. The remaining changes are to be introduced gradually, and moreover, the developers intend to entirely move Stars to a new engine by the end of 2020.

These improvements can attract more recreational players, since the tables have become brighter and more interesting, and they will be unusual and less convenient for the regulars. The current poker tendency is that the owners of poker rooms started focusing more on amateurs, rather than on regular players.
