Dan Smith claims his first WSOP Bracelet
American Dan Smith is an incredibly successful player. He has at least eight PokerStars live event titles, three WPT Cups, the 2021 GPI Player of the Year, and big payouts at Triton Poker on his trophy shelf. Not to mention, he is currently number seven on the All Time Money List on HendonMob.
Smith needed a gold bracelet from the World Series of Poker to complete his collection. And Dan finally managed to get the coveted prize.
Dan Smith won the $25 000 WSOP 2022 Event #6: Heads-Up Championship and received a WSOP bracelet and $509 710 in prize money.
The buy-in of the tournament turned out to be far from affordable for everyone, and as a result, the event collected 64 entries. The total prize fund reached $1 512 000.
The successful German player Christoph Vogelsang became the runner-up with a payout of $315 020. Third place and $193 530 in prize money went to Italian Dario Sammartino. Chance Kornuth was also able to get to the final of the tournament, who took seventh place with $75,040 in prize money. With the exception of Vogelsang and Sammartino, the rest of the players at the final table turned out to be poker players from the USA.

The final of the tournament was hot. The last hand started with a limp from Smith, who held A♥ 4♦. Vogelsang raised with A♣ 10♣ and Dan Smith moved all in. Christoph called and the board was dealt 8♥ 4♠ 2♦, and this allowed Smith to flop a pair. On the 7♦ turn, Christoph's chances were reduced, and the 3♠ river gave Dan Smith his first bracelet.
