This year, EAPT takes place online at PartyPoker with a total guarantee of $135 000. Russian Poker Championship became one of the key tournaments of series. In order to get to the final, it was required to play successfully in one of the three starting days.

Buy-in for the event was democratic: $165, and its prize pool reached the mark of $43 000. Three starting days collected 292 registrations and only 56 of them reached the final.

Of course, there were a lot of Russian poker players in Russian Poker Championship. Despite this, the German high roller Dominik Nitsche became the winner.

It remained a mystery to us why the high roller decided to play in $165 tournament. During his entire career, Dominik won over $18 500 000 in the live tournaments and over $5 500 000 in online events.

It was interesting to watch the final day, as there were many players that are familiar to Russian poker community. Shortly before the ITM zone, Mikhail Semin finished his performance without prize money.

40 best players entered the prize zone. Olga Iermolcheva and the finalist of ME WSOP 2018 Artem Metalidi were among these poker pros.

After Metalidi finished his play in sixth place, four Russian players and Dominik Nitsche entered the top 5.

Giorgii Skhulukhia was the last player who had a chance to prevent Nitsche from victory, but he wasn’t able to do this. Nitsche demonstrated good performance and won the tournament. Dominik earned $8 716 for the first place, but this prize money was very modest for him.
