Doug Polk Criticized Run it Once for Hiring Justin Bonomo
Recently, the American Justin Bonomo, who occupies the second position in the ranking of the most successful poker players in the world, caused public anger with his statements about the conflict in Israel and the Gaza Strip. He openly supported terrorists and their actions and became one of the most "hated players" in the poker community. The decision of the Run it Once poker platform to sign a contract with him was all the more surprising.
It is an online platform created by professional poker player Phil Galfond. The platform provides the services of poker coaches and offer teaching the game. Professional coaches on the platform include Galfond himself, as well as Dan Smith, Jeremy Ausmus, Jason Koon and Justin Bonomo. The cost of Run it Once services depends on the selected package and ranges from $99 to $199 per month.
Of course, Doug Polk, one of the main newsmakers and scandalmongers of the poker community, could not ignore the signing of the contract between Bonomo and Run it Once. Therefore, Galfond had to write a detailed post about his position.
"It seems that people are demanding an explanation of why RunItOnce’s big recent pro signing announcement includes Justin Bonomo."
Also Phil added that Polk would only be jealous, since his own training platform was not so successful:
"RunItOnce has 4 of the top 5 players on Poker’s All Time Money List while Upswing has 0 in the top 10."
But other poker personalities took Polk's side. So, for example, Shaun Deeb wrote that he would not want Bonomo to be his coach, because he "despise most people." Another player urged Galfond to reconsider his decision and not give Bonomo a wider platform to air his political position.
But so far, all these claims have remained unanswered and Justin Bonomo is officially still the trainer of Run it Once.
