EPT Prague Sees Ole Schemion's Comeback with First Title in Seven Years
You don't have to be in the Bahamas right now to take part in a major prestigious poker series. The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, hosts a regular festive stage of the European Poker Tour. The festival schedule includes many expensive tournaments and poker professionals from all over the world can be seen at the tables.
Two tournaments were held in a row with the same buy-ins of 25 thousand euros, and if the first could be called a warm-up with its 15 participants, then the second already had an impressive field of 27 registrations.
The champion of the €25,000 NL Hold'em event number two is the famous German professional Ole Schemion. In 2016, Ole became the champion of the EPT €100,000 Super High Roller in Monte Carlo and since then he has never managed to win on the European Poker Tour again. One of the best players in the world did everything he could, but success did not come to him. And so it was before this event.
In the heads-up, the 31-year-old German met with the representative of Switzerland, Diego Zeiter. After spending an hour trying to outplay his opponent, Schemion managed to finally break his drought and lift the EPT trophy above his head. In addition, he also earned €246,370.
Final top-three results in the tournament:
Place | Player | Country | Prize |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Ole Schemion | Germany | €246,370 |
2 | Diego Zeiter | Switzerland | €158,800 |
3 | Teun Mulder | Netherlands | €105,300 |
It is worth noting the third place of the Dutch Teun Mulder. Just a few days ago, Teun became the winner of the first event with the same buy-in of 25 thousand. There were only 15 players and three prizes. The win allowed the player from Netherlands to take first place on his country's All-Time Money List.
