Fedor Holz Hits Top Ten in 2023's Flag Hunter Ranking for Poker Players
The famous poker portal The Hendon Mob has published the final rating of "Flag Hunters" of the year. In 2023, among the most productive poker players on this list were Steve O'Dwyer, Fedor Holz and Ori Hasson.
This is the name given to poker players who, on purpose or not, make up their tournament calendar in such a way as to visit poker tournaments in as many countries as possible. But the main condition is not just participation in tournaments in different countries, but getting to the prize zone. Only in this case the country is counted.
GGPoker ambassador Fedor Holz made it to the top 10 such poker travelers based on the results of 2023. Having distinguished himself in poker competitions in 10 different countries, Holz took the 8th place in the rating. In fact, he received money in only nine countries, and the tenth was credited to him for participating in the poker show "Game Of Gold", which was filmed in Seoul, the capital of Korea. In just one year, Holz made 15 cashes in tournament poker and earned $4,049,912, which became his fourth career result.
Other famous "flag hunters" include Ori Hasson (Israel) and Steve O'Dwyer (Ireland). Hasson, who is the owner of a WSOP bracelet and who can truly be called a professional flag hunter, has recorded prize payments in 11 countries around the world this year. Well-known poker pro Steve O'Dwyer has one more. He made it into the top 4 of The Hendon Mob, but he didn't just travel, he won titles. In 2023, O'Dwyer won the WPT Alpha8 One Drop Korea ($1,006,537) and the $25K Turbo Tournament at Triton Monte-Carlo. In general, in 2023, he managed to earn $6,679,011 in prize money.
And the winner of the "Flag Hunters 2023" rating was the Brazilian Manoel Assuncao Ferreira Gomes Filho. He managed to earn prize money in 16 countries, although his biggest achievement was 212th place in the EPT Main Event Paris (+$9,884).
