First Champion Crowned at WSOP Paradise: Allan Mello Becomes a Millionaire
Recently, the prestigious and long-awaited WSOP Paradise series started in the Bahamas. And already in the first event, one of the lucky ones not only won the first of 15 precious bracelets, but also turned into a dollar millionaire. It happened in the $1,500 Millionaire Maker tournament, and this champion is the famous Brazilian professional Allan Mello, who many in the community know by the nickname "allan sheik".
This event took place in an interesting and unusual format: the first round was played online on GGPoker, where the top 100 best participants were determined. They received tickets to the Bahamas, where they finished the game in the format of a regular live tournament.
Allan mainly plays tournaments online, his main poker room is PokerStars, he is a member of Samba Team. He had long dreamed of winning a major offline event, and also dreamed of a gold bracelet. And now all his wishes were fulfilled at the same time.
"I can’t believe I won this. Finally, I got my first bracelet and my biggest win of $1 million! So I am very happy."
The heads-up was very intense and lasted more than two hours. The chip leader changed many times, but in the end luck was on the side of the Brazilian and he managed to win and get $1,000,000 in prize money. In second place with a payout of $593,500 was a less experienced player from Ukraine, Nazar Buhaiov. It is worth noting that this was not the first WSOP final table for Nazar. This summer, he finished 7th in WSOP Event #59: $3,000 Freezeout.
