Gerard Pique took runner-up in the EPT Barcelona High Roller
On August 25, Gerard Pique was defending FC Barcelona colors in a match against Real Betis. The game ended with a score of 5:2, and the very next day Gerard went to play the EPT Barcelona high roller tournament cost €25 000.
The tournament was only one day long, therefore Pique had the opportunity to relax from the football field and try his hand at the poker table as well. As a result, the guy not only showed an excellent game, but also won the largest prize money in his poker career.

The €25 000 EPT Barcelona High Roller Tournament attracted 70 poker players who formed a prize pool of €1 680 000. Almost all the attention was focused on two football players of FC Barcelona – Gerard Pique and Arturo Vidal. At some point of the game, the teammates became rivals at the poker table:
It was a debut poker tournament for Arturo Vidal, and he showed great game as for the new-comer. Vidal managed to reach the final table and take fifth place in the event. Gerard Pique made even deeper run and fought for the victory in the final heads-up against Juan Pardo.
In the last hand of the event, Juan Pardo’s pocket deuces won all-in against A-9 of Gerard Pique. The football player took home €352 000 which is the largest prize money in his career, and Juan received around €500 000 for winning the tournament.
