Ireland's O'Dwyer Bags Second Triton Title with $25k NLH Turbo Victory

Irish Steve O'Dwyer wins second Triton title in $25k NLH Turbo

The prestigious Triton Poker Series in Monte-Carlo is coming to a close. And one of its tournaments, namely Event #5 the $25k NLH Turbo, revealed Ireland's prodigious poker talent, Steve O'Dwyer, as its esteemed champion.

The turbo tournament with a buy-in of $25,000 attracted a total of 57 entrants, culminating in a substantial prize pool of $1,425,000. Nine spots made it to the prize zone, but it was O'Dwyer and Bulgarian Dimitar Danchev who met in the intense heads-up battle. The final hand witnessed O'Dwyer clinch the title, pocketing a remarkable $416,000, pushing his career winnings north of $39 million.

Final results of Event #5:

Interestingly, despite O'Dwyer's well-documented dominance in poker, this is only his second title win in the Triton Series. His latest triumph allowed him to join the elite club of Triton's multi-title winners.

O'Dwyer's connection with Monaco goes back to the European Poker Tour in 2013, where he firmly established his status as a top-tier poker professional. Since then, he has been a consistent force to reckon with, conquering numerous tournaments and solidifying his position as a regular contender in the Triton Series.

"Winning is nice. I’ve been waiting to get this second Triton title for a while," commented the champion.

For Dimitar Danchev, this was a maiden venture into the Triton festival. Despite missing out on the top spot, his impressive performance and notable $299,000 prize ensured his debut was anything but forgettable.
