Isaac Haxton became the champion of 6+ Holdem tournament at HRW Week

Isaac Haxton 2020

The first and only short deck tournament has come to an end during GGPoker High Rollers Week. In total, 34 entries were made to HRW 14 Short Deck High Roller for $10 300. By the time the late registration period finished, Isaac Haxton was already the chip leader and he demonstrated a confident play.

However, coming close to the final table, Haxton lost his advantage and found himself in the middle of a chip account. It was not easy to win, because it was needed to outplay such strong players as Amichai Barer and Stoyan Madanzhiev, who had a significant advantage at that time. Haxton adhered to wait-and-see attitude and watched his rivals leaving the tournament.

As a result, Isaac reached a heads-up stage, in which he fought against Amichai Barer from Canada. In one of the hands, he managed to beat Barer's pocket aces and got ahead. This became the turning point of the game. Barer was unable to assume leadership and he became a runner-up, which brought him $90 737 of prize money.

Haxton is considered one of the best shortdeck players in the world and it is not surprising that he has become the winner of this event. The American added another six-figure sum to his impressive arsenal that made him sixteenth in the list of the world's most profitable poker players.
