Jaffe's Stellar Performance Earns Him $681,000 in Triton Series Event
The first championship cup found its owner at the Triton series, the current stage of which is now being held in Monaco. Event #2 NLH Turbo Bounty with a buy-in of $50,000 ended successfully at the festival.
The $50K tournament was played in the same room that hosted the prestigious $200,000 buy-in Triton Invitational. Players who dropped out of the more expensive event immediately jumped into the NLH Turbo Bounty, so the event easily collected 57 entries and $2,850,000 in prize money ($1,710,000 in bounties).
Only nine finalists managed to get to the prize zone. It was here that Jonathan Jaffe's road to victory began, starting final table with quite a short stack. After quickly doubled his stack with KK against JJ, the American began methodically knocking his opponents out of the game.
Jaffe knocked out five players (including Luke Greenwood) before ending up in a heads-up with American Brian Kim. This was followed by a hand that could have potentially dragged this battle into the late night: Jaffe with Q♣️6♥️ called all streets against Kim's bets on a 2♠️6♠️К♦️3♦️А♠️ board.
A double for Kim would mean that the tournament, which has already dragged on, will continue. But after his all-in on the river, Brian showed 10♥️4♣️, that was nothing. Jaffe took home the first trident trophy and his first place payout was $681,000 (including the bounty).

Meanwhile, play in the $200K Triton Invitational continues with 9 finalists remaining at the table (Fedor Holz and Dan Smith are still in the battle). The name of the winner of the second trophy of the series in Monte Carlo will be known soon.
