Jason Mercier won $280 000 in PLO High Roller at WPT Online

Jason Mercier 2020

Becoming a father made Jason Mercier appear less on the poker scene, although, he used to be a terror of the spring poker series in the recent past. Jason is one of 10 players to win five Spring Championships of Online Poker at PokerStars and became the SCOOP player in 2015.

But, being on self-isolation, Mercier, apparently, found time to play online and decided to reintroduce himself to the poker public. A few days ago, the 33-year-old professional won his first World Poker Tour Online title at PartyPoker, having become the champion of the Pot Limit Omaha High Roller for $10 300 (Event #46). This victory brought Jason over a quarter of a million dollars.

The tournament collected 101 entries, which allowed the operator to form a $1 010 000 prize pool. It also brought together many poker professionals, for example, Jason fought against Linus Loeliger (LLinusLLove) in the final heads-up. The third place was taken by Viktor Blom (Isildur1), and the fourth one went to Yuri Dzivielevski (theNERDguy), who was considered the most successful online MTT player in 2015.

For Mercier, who has won around $20 000 000 in live events and millions of dollars online, this is not the biggest prize money, but given his low activity in poker over the past few years, it’s a great result.
