Matthias Eibinger became the winner of $5 200 WPT Montreal High Roller tournament

Matthias Eibinger 2021

$5 200 High Roller tournament as part of WPT Montreal Online Series finished at PartyPoker. There were 51 participants in this event and nine of them shared the prize pool of $255 000.

Patrick Leonard, David Peters, Sam Greenwood, Elio Fox and others tried to prevent Eibinger from winning the WPT Montreal tournament. Matthias was a chip leader for a long time and he played aggressively at the final table, while Greenwood had only five big blinds in a 5-max game. However, Sam managed to recoup and get ahead of Eibinger in stack in the top 3.

After almost three hours of play at the final table, the Austrian poker pro Matthias Eibinger was awarded the champion title. Heads-up battle against Sam Greenwood lasted an hour and a half, and as a result, they made a deal.

According to the deal, Eibinger earned $71 600 and Greenwood enriched with $61 700. After that, it remained only to determine the champions’ name with the help of flips. The last flip turned out to be interesting, as Eibinger got pocket aces.

It is worth noting that Matthias and Greenwood shared the prize money in a heads-up not for the first time. In November, the poker players made a deal in the final of high roller event at GGPoker and each of them received $500 000.
