Mattsson and Astedt lost to Brazilian in tournament finals at PokerStars

Simon Mattsson 2019

In Sweden, there are two players whose nicknames are well-known in the poker community. Simon "c.darwin2" Mattsson and Niklas "lena900" Astedt are among the strongest MTT players not only in Sweden, but around the world.

Niklas managed to win over $16 000 000 in online, and Simon Mattsson also tries to keep up with his compatriot. The other day, both guys reached the final of the High Roller tournament at PokerStars, where they were opposed by a Brazilian player.

The Sunday Cooldown event held within High Roller Club at PokerStars collected 96 entries that allowed to form a prize pool of $192 000. Only 11 players entered the ITM zone in order to fight for their part of the given prize pool. Two Swedish professionals and one Brazilian got in the top 3 finalists.

Niklas "lena900" Astedt was the first to leave the game. For the third place, the guy received $13 600 in prize money and $4 600 as bounty. Then, the heads-up between the Brazilian performing under the "edudrake1987" screen name and Simon Mattsson started.

In this heads-up, Brazil turned out to be stronger than Sweden again, and Simon became the tournament runner-up. For the second place, Mattsson received $25 000 in total. It’s a very modest amount considering the prize money he won in online poker throughout entire career.
