ME WSOP at GGPoker: gold bracelet and additional $1 000 000 for the winner
WSOP and GGPoker will hold a hybrid online version of World Championship in No-Limit Hold'em discipline for $10 000. For international players, the event will take place on 29 November in the poker rooms of GGNetwork. The Americans will be able to join the game at WSOP.com on 13 December.
The event will be held in online format, but the final table will be played live on two continents. The organizers chose this format in order to protect participants of the event. Final table will become the world's first heads-up at World Championship, in which $1 million prize pool will be given jointly with Caesars Entertainment, Inc. and GGPoker.
Main Event will be held in a freezeout format, and the levels will be the longest ones in the history of online poker, including the deepest stacks. Before participating in the live tournament, the players will need to undergo a full medical check-up and make a coronavirus test.
$10 000 buy-in tournament will run for two full days in New Jersey or Nevada. The tournament schedule includes stops during the night breaks 12 hours after the start of event. The tournament will also be suspended before the final table start, and the top nine finalists will play at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Schedule of US Domestic Tournament:
- Day 1 – 3 December, 2020;
- Day 2 – 14 December 2020, until the final top nine.
- Final Table – Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, 28 December. The game continues until the winner is determined.
The participants of tournament at GGPoker can start the game in one of three flights. Top nine players will play in the final table in Rozvadov at Royal Casino. If the quarantine restrictions don’t allow the game to be held live, then the finals will take place online or it will be postponed.
Schedule of international tournament:
- Day 1A – 29 November, 2020;
- Day 1B – 5 December, 2020;
- Day 1C – 6 December, 2020;
- Day 2 – 7 December 2020, until the final top nine.
- Final Table – *King's Casino, Tuesday 15 December until winner is determined.
The winner of US Domestic Tournament and the winner of International Tournament will fight in a head-up at one of Las Vegas Casino on 30 December. ESPN will broadcast the finale with such commentators as Lon McEachern and Norman Chad.
In addition to the prize pools won by the participants of respective tournaments, WSOP and GGPoker have formed an additional $1 million pool. The heads-up winner will get 2020 World Champion title, Main Event bracelet and $1 000 000 extra prize money.
Satellites will be available at both WSOP.com and GGPoker, allowing you to qualify for as little as $1.
WSOP CEO Ty Stewart states that this time Main Event will have a unique format, as the players’ health and safety is in the first place. Also, they will make a great broadcast.
The Head of Poker Operations at GGPoker Steve Preiss added that the company is very happy to strengthen its relationship with WSOP. In the summer, the poker room held a grandiose streak that broke Guinness record. Steve is glad that his company can provide poker players with access to the largest poker event.
