Michael Phelps, DJ Khaled and NBA Stars in the Poker Celebrity Challenge
Global Poker have always found something to please and surprise poker fans. But this time they surpassed even themselves.
The fact is that Global Poker recently announced their first Global Poker Celebrity Challenge, which started September 18th and will be held up to November 13th.
This Celebrity Challenge is a poker competition with prizes and charitable donations that gives poker players the chance to play with four celebrities: NBA superstars Paul George and Karl-Anthony Towns, Olympic icon Michael Phelps and legendary producer DJ Khaled ( perhaps better known for his memes than his art).
The format of the challenge will consist of four celebrity heads-up games pitting each star against another, as well as four finals where Global Poker players can compete against celebrities. Also before each celebrity match, a series of Sweeps Coin qualifying tournaments will be held, in which Global Poker users will be able to participate.

The first stage of the competition (Paul George one) has already passed successfully. Its final was scheduled for September 27th.
Ordinary amateurs compete not only for the chance to play at the same table with the stars, but also for a really unique prize: the opportunity to drive a Formula 1 car (Ferrari F1 team car). The prize for the celebrities will be the opportunity to choose the concrete charity fund to which $90,000 will be sent on their behalf.
For instance, Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers has committed to backing the American Heart Association. This organization is particularly dear to him since his mother experienced a stroke during his childhood. Therefore, the motivation of all the stars should be unquestionable.
