Online gambling in Michigan started to operate at the legislative level

Online gambling in Michigan

At the end of 2019, online gambling (particularly online poker) was legalized at the legislative level in the US state of Michigan.

And now, after long work with the legislative side of this issue, the online market officially started to operate in the state. So far, only local tribal and private casinos are allowed to provide their services online.

It’s known that 23 gambling establishments and three commercial casinos in Detroit can now offer online gambling services in all formats.

Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Richard Kalm, was interviewed by one of the American media. According to Richard, Michigan residents love sports and are looking forward to using mobile devices to bet at commercial and national casinos. He pointed out that the information was based on the requests they had received.

For now, only nine facilities have been able to obtain a license, including all three casinos in Detroit, but the number will grow as regulatory bodies review all applications.
