​Patrick Leonard demonstrated an excellent start at WCOOP 2021 series. WCOOP series began relatively recent, but the poker player has already achieved two victories. Now, Patrick tops the overall leaderboard and plans to continue his progress.

First triumph

On Monday, "pads1161" took part in the event with $5 200 buy-in. The British player began to play at the final table with one of the shortest stacks, but soon, he managed to achieve the best result.

In heads-up, Leonard fought against Russian player under the nickname "Black88". Heads-up participants played mostly small pots and acted cautiously. In the final hand of tournament, Patrick entered the game with 7-5 and hit a trips of sevens on the river, while the Russian pro hit two pairs.

After that, the stack of "black88" declined significantly, and then completely disappeared. As a result, Patrick Leonard became the winner and earned $121 000 for the 1st place.

Second victory

As for the second triumph, Leonard achieved it in the tournament with $1 050 buy-in. The event collected 70 entries and a prize pool reached the mark of $70 000. The tournament ended two hours after its start. In NL 2-7 Single Draw event, Leonard earned $20 475.

WCOOP 2021 is still continuing, but Patrick has already got two victories. Be interesting to see if the poker player be able to repeat Connor Drinan’s success and win 5 tournaments of the series.
