Pokerstars Cash Out

In this post I will share with the awesomely cool readers of my blog my opinion about the cash out option on Pokerstars.  While I stay well clear of it and ignore it, I have noticed some other players using it and to their own PAIN!!  It's a clever bit of money making for the Pokerstars owners isn't it?

Whoever came up with this idea in the companies boardroom would have been met with approving smiles from the CEOs and perhaps a nice pay packet bonus or five week all paid inclusive holiday in the sun.  Instead of taking rake at the each level, including the micro stakes levels I play, the poker platform now offers this 'wonderful' thing of cashing out your money wether you are winning or losing (and calculated on this percentage basis).  If you win the hand you only get a certain amount of what you 'would' have won and if you lose you at least can recover some losses.

EXAMPLE:

K104 (flop) Vilain holds K5 Hero holds JJ CASH OUT? Hero says yes and cashes out $1 after going all in for $10 buy in. The turn comes a J. The hero wins with his set, but does not receive the $20 because he cashed out...! Ouch. Don't cash out after going all in, is the lesson here.

On a number of occasions, I've seen players who are losing badly on the flop cashing out for pennies after going all in (say they are facing AA and holding pockets twos) then cash out and crying when their hand makes it, or would have made it, when a 2 hit the river.

                                          Ddddddooooohhhh!!!!

The player who cashed out for pennies loses a whole stack of cash and so does the player with AA when he loses on the river - where does this money go?  Into the pockets of Pokerstars!  And I've seen countless of players cashing out everybody time they go all in, to 'secure' their money, while I'm on the sidelines shouting don't do it...don't do it!

For me, if you're all in, you're all in so be careful with the hands you choose to do this with! Rather than relying on the false remedy of cash out.  Pokerstars must be making a bomb.  Not from me though.  Not unless my hand gets rarely drawn with another player do they take it in.

I have been playing poker for about 15 years. I play online currently and I've played poker in casinos, card rooms, local games and with friends. I play NL hold'em tournaments and cash games and can also play Pot Limit Omaha, a game I also love.

cash out reduces dispersion.

In this case, I tilt less.

I has 22 and my opponent has is AA, I do not take cash out.

If you cash out, when you would have won, it can put you one even more tilt!
