PokerStars has launched updated rakeback system in test mode

PokerStars 2021

Not long ago, the world's top poker room PokerStars lost its No. 1 ranking in terms of cash game traffic. Asian poker room GGPoker knocked Stars off the pedestal.

Needless to say that this was a huge blow to Stars reputation, therefore they began to think about how to attract more new players to the room.

It became known that PokerStars had launched an updated version of the Stars Rewards loyalty program in test mode.

So far, only a few players have been given an opportunity to test the new rakeback system. The poker players will be testing it through July, and closer to September, the updated Stars Rewards program is planned to be launched for all PokerStars users.

The major change in the new Stars Rewards system will be fixed rakeback. This means that a certain amount of money will now be hidden in a certain chest, and not a random prize as it was before. You will be able to progress to the next level of Chests if you receive the required number of Stars Rewards prizes at your current level.

According to preliminary data, the new rakeback system will be as follows:

Stars Rewards ChestNumber of points
Number of chests to progress to the next level
PayoutRakeback %
Blue3335$0.5015%
Bronze9355$1.5016%
Silver2 8507$517,5%
Gold10 8007$2018,5%
Diamond37 50010$7520%
Black100 000$25025%

On top of that, players will also receive individual assignments. This is inherently a bonus that must be wagered. The bonus provides an additional 40% rakeback, but it is likely to be issued to regular players only.

The poker community reacted ambiguously to the upcoming innovations of Stars. Some players consider this an attempt to reclaim the palm and partially restore their reputation. Other players believe the system is an attempt to throw dust into people’s eyes. After all, the poker room provides no guarantees of getting fixed rakeback on a monthly basis. In any case, we don't know that for sure.
