PokerStars plans to launch Showtime Omaha

PokerStars, a popular all over the world poker room, is often experimenting with new poker formats, due to which there is a wide variety of games in this room.

A new poker discipline called Showtime Omaha has appeared in the PokerStars.it lobby.

This Omaha format is a bit different from the traditional one: players can see the cards of those opponents who have folded their pocket cards. Thus, if there are two players left in the hand, then you can see half of the deck.

Unlike Showtime Hold'em, an analogue of this format in Omaha will be available at 6-max tables. PokerStars players from Italy are already able to test this discipline.

Showtime Omaha is expected to appear in the main lobby of Stars in the nearest future, as the format name is already visible in the tournament filters of the game client:

Showtime Omaha

It is not yet known whether Showtime Omaha will be introduced at cash tables. Will this discipline gain popularity or will it be another failed experiment of Stars? It remains to be seen.

I’ve been working in the Cardmates team since 2018. Started playing poker the same way most people usually do – socially, with friends and fellow students. I adored those exciting poker nights but never thought my life would be connected with this game, even tangentially.
