Quan Zhou Wins EPT Cyprus Mystery Bounty in His "Lucky Suit"
In Northern Cyprus, another trophy was given in the EPT Cyprus Mystery Bounty event with a buy-in of $3,000. Over three days, the tournament collected 981 entries, thanks to which a prize pool of $2,664,395 was formed. Such events are gaining more and more popularity both offline and online; for example, very soon such a tournament will be held for the first time on the IPoker network at Bet365 Poker.
The champion of the event is Quan Zhou – the player from Hong Kong received $283,623 for the first place. He came close to winning the $50,000 EPT Super High Roller this week, but finished sixth for $156,200 in prize money.
At the series in Rozvadov, many players remembered Zhou running after his white jacket for a photo after his victory in the high roller event. This time, the Chinese decided to "increase his chances of winning" by wearing a full suit in advance – at the final table of Mystery Bounty, he shone like the first snow. It seems that Snow White's talisman worked as it should.
As for the bounty, the tournament had two of the largest rewards of $75,000. One of the lucky envelopes was drawn by Francesco Blasio, who previously had only $23,246 in career live tournament winnings. That is, the player made the best cash thanks to a successful knockout.
As for the tournament champion, Quan Zhou made a deal with Walid Bou Habib in heads-up. The players agreed to split the prizes 50/50 and continue the fight for the cup and another $25,000. But the player from Lebanon did not have a snow-white suit, so he had almost no chance of winning. By the way, the winner of this event also showed himself well in winning lucky large bounties. For one opponent he received ten thousand, and for another as much as 25!
