Stars Group found a partner company in Michigan
In late December 2019, there was a law, which allows online poker rooms and casinos to operate, signed in the state of Michigan.
Gambling operators must choose a partner among 23 casinos of Detroit that belong to indigenous Indian tribes, or chose one of three commercial casinos.
The decision was not long in coming as Stars have already found a partner company from the Odawa tribe through which they can launch FOX Bet for betting, as well as PokerStars for online poker.

The Stars Group entered into an agreement with the Little Traverse Bay Bands, which exercises control over the gambling activities of the Odawa tribe in Michigan. The tribe of Odawa, in turn, will receive portion of the proceeds of PokerStars activities within the state.
It’s the third state where PokerStars launches the poker room, however, it’s impossible to unite it with PokerStars.NJ (New Jersey) and PokerStars.PA (Pennsylvania) yet due to some differences in the laws of these states.
