There were 9 players to start the final table. Famous poker professionals Steve O'Dwyer and Ole Schemion were among the finalists, but none of them managed to become the winner. Schemion was the first participant to leave the game, as his pocket kings failed him at the last moment. After two and half hours of playing, the guy eliminated in the 9th place, having received €25 485 for it.
Legendary Steve O'Dwyer was able to last longer in the tournament. He was close to get the trophy, but Kevin Paqué from the Netherlands turned out to be stronger. The heads-up lasted around three hours, and the leader was changing from time to time. In the last hand, Paqué hit the flush of clubs on the river that allowed him to overcome O'Dwyer’s top pair.
«He is a good player, he seems to play a lot of heads-up poker, he played really well», the Irish professional said.
For the second place, Steve took home €174 421, and Kevin Paqué was awarded with €260 878, and this is his biggest live cash in career. In addition to prize money, the guy received the plate trophy for becoming the Main Event champion.
«This is what every Dutch poker player dreams of. I don't have the words for it yet, I am so happy», Kevin said after the tournament.
