The Classic at 888poker

In June, 888poker successfully carried out the Freezeout Series, which provided only freezeout tournaments. Events of this format have become very popular among the 888poker players. Two months later, the poker room decided to add regular freezeout events to its tournament schedule.

The freezeout tournaments are marked as "The Classic" in the 888 poker lobby, and they provide no possibility of re-entry and rebuys. The room will daily hold five Classic events, the buy-ins of which start from $5. Here are other important characteristics of these events:

  • One table can feature 8 players.
  • The blinds grow every 10 minutes.
  • The $50 tournament is carried out in a progressive knockout format.
  • Late registration lasts 70 minutes.

The last point is a major asset for players, as it is possible to register for the tournament in the last minutes of late registration and still enter the game with a stack of 30 big blinds.

Rake in the Classic tournaments is below 10%, which is less than in other events.

I’ve been working in the Cardmates team since 2018. Started playing poker the same way most people usually do – socially, with friends and fellow students. I adored those exciting poker nights but never thought my life would be connected with this game, even tangentially.
