The Global Poker Awards returns next year's awards ceremony
For obvious reasons, the main annual Global Poker Awards wasn’t held last year. At the ceremony big-name poker players usually get their awards for various achievements in this sphere.
After a long-running break The Global Poker Awards will happen, as it was announced by The Global Poker Index representatives.
According to the Awards organizers, ceremony returning is possible due to epidemiological conditions improvement. Live poker is expected to gain momentum gradually.
At the Sochi Poker Festival and during live poker series two Russian poker players crushed their opponents, so if the ceremony was held in 2020, they would probably win some rewards.
The first Global Poker Awards ceremony took place in 2019. Then 25 nominations were announced and poker celebrities got their statuettes. Some poker players managed to win in several nominations at once. For example, Joey Ingram was nominated in four categories and got two awards – Journalist of the Year & Content of the Year: Video.
Next year there may be much more nominees, so choosing the best ones will be really hard task. The Global Poker Awards ceremony traditionally will be held in the PokerGO studio.
