In the spring of 2020, PokerStars.eu became available in Slovakia. The players tried to find information about PokerStars license on the website of organization that regulates gambling in Slovakia. However, the searches were unsuccessful and players realized that PokerStars.eu began its activity illegally.

In its defense, PokerStars reported that they operated under a Maltese license. But apparently, the Maltese license was not enough.

Slovakia blocked access to PokerStars.eu

The organization that regulates gambling in Slovakia sued. On 19 June, the court ruled that access to Pokerstars.eu should be blocked.

Now, PokerStars players in Slovakia will have big problems related to the site access. Soon, they won’t be able to enter poker room or make financial transactions.

Most likely, the poker room will try to get a license in order to operate legally, as well as not to lose the Slovak players’ pool.
