Triton Poker opens the new names

The first short-deck tournament with £25 000 buy-in was held on Triton Poker London series. In total, the event collected 106 entries and 53 re-entries. David Benefield was one of the participants and only few people in the poker community heard about him.

David is a high stakes poker player from Texas and he got the largest winning in his career in this tournament: £650 000. This winning allowed him to break through $3 000 000 in the live tournaments.

David was fond of a short deck for about a year. At first it was online, and later he began to play in the tournaments of Triton Poker series.

David fought for the victory at the final table with such regulars as Chin Wei Lim and Bjorn Li. Nevertheless, he managed to demonstrate his best qualities and won. He played at the final table with Cheok Leng Cheong from Macau, who soon became a runner-up of the tournament.

In the last hand of the event, Benefield hit a straight from 9-10, and Cheok had only an ace-high. After that, David went to celebrate his first victory in a short deck tournament.
