WPT The Big One for One Drop: First Seven Celebrities are Revealed
The WPT World Championship 2023 promises to be extremely interesting. Of course, the main reason for this should be the Main Event with a record guaranteed prize pool of $40,000,000. But no less interesting is the tournament with a buy-in of $1,000,000 – The Big One for One Drop.
Before that, the name of only one participant of this tournament was known. It was Phil Ivey, who personally brought the money for the buy-in to the casino. But now the organizers presented the names of six more participants of the tournament. The most famous of them is Daniel "Jungleman" Cates, a two-time WSOP champion. Also joining the table will be Rick Salomon, one of the stars of the current season of High Stakes Poker. The American can boast of good form at The Big One for One Drop tournaments:
- 2014 – fourth place, $2,800,000 prize;
- 2016 (Monte Carlo) – third place, €3,000,000;
- 2018 – fourth place, $2,840,000.
David Einhorn will also be among the participants. The American businessman took third place in the first edition of this tournament. Then he received $4,352,000. Also joining the battle will be Talal Shakerchi, a businessman and poker player from England whose live tournament winnings total $18,174,569. He played in all editions of the described tournament, but he never managed to get into the ITM.
The debutant of the tournament will be "Mr. Bubble Boy" Chris Brewer. During his career, he earned a total of $18,278,761 in prize money, and during the 2023 WSOP he won two bracelets at once. And last on the list of participants was Nick Petrangelo, who is a two-time WSOP champion with live winnings of $31,777,909.
