WSOPE 2019: Ivey conceded poker bracelet to the casino owner

Phil Ivey 2019

The Short Deck High Roller for €25 000 has ended at the WSOPE 2019. The event was attended by Leon Tsoukernik, an owner of the King’s Resort, in which the poker series is currently being held.

This tournament prize pool amounted to €2 755 000. The prize zone provided only four places, and Tsoukernik managed to take down the tournament by beating the field of 29 entries. He received €1 102 000 for the first place. In heads-up, the casino owner played against the famous American poker player Phil Ivey.

«Maybe I should only play Short Deck», said Tsoukernik jokingly after winning the event.

Ivey got €827 000 in prize money for finishing second. Malaysian player Paul Phua closed the top 3, having taken home €551 000.

The last poker player to hit the prize zone of the event was Cary Katz, a poker professional from the USA. The American won €276 000 in prize money, and the bubble boy title went to another American player Ben Lamb.
